Simplicity in design combined with an attitude from hell explains this Showstopper entitled Red Fusion. It all started with an ordinary 1999 Honda Civic SI. The owner K.C. Ribas came to Showstoppers USA with his car, an idea, and some money. The combined team came up with a design that would fit K.C.’s needs and style.

BODY
We started with the outer body of the civic SI. K.C. wanted a body kit that would change the look of the car. He did not want it to look like any other civic so we had to add a little extra to it. We first looked at the newest body kits available at the time and ran across the Black Widow 2. The 11 piece kit included the front, sides, rear, flares, fenders and hood. K.C. approved and we moved to get the kit. The kit was installed and the whole car was painted an Audi TT red color. We added projector headlights to finish off the exterior body along with Nokya headlight and Hybrid corner hyper white bulbs.

ENGINE
K.C. also wanted to go a little faster to match the look of the car. We understood that K.C. would use the car daily and would have to combat Southern California traffic. We went for the simplest engine upgrades possible to make it go faster but not interrupt the daily operation of the car. We took care of the air system with a combination of an AEM cold air system, DC ceramic headers and a Tanabe Race Medallion cat back exhaust. Nology wires were added along with NGK spark plugs to prevent misfires.

SUSPENSION
Daily driven cars need dependable suspension. We got K.C. Skunk 2 coilovers, which offer the best possible ride while lowering the car. We then matched them up with Tokico shocks for extra support. Tenzo strut bars were added to the front and rear to allow extended control on turns.

INTERIOR
K.C. wanted to keep the interior simple so we added a Tenzo shift knob and E-brake handle. We also installed a red and black carbon fiber dash kit and indiglo gauges to give the interior a little life.

WHEELS
Wheels are an important part of the car. Different cars match different styles of rims. In this case, we picked the newest style from Tenzo, the 18" white Tenzo Passion 5 rims. Pirelli P7000 tires wrap the wheels and allow for the best possible traction.

From the roar of the car to its exotic look, K.C. has it all covered. No custom work had to be done to K.C.’s car to make it look how it looks now. Simple bolt on upgrades and replacements has truly made his 1999 Civic SI into a SHOWSTOPPER.
